Eric Duarte-McDermott
Executive Director, Master of Science in Business Analytics
Eric Duarte-McDermott joined the UC Davis Graduate School of Management in February 2023. Based in San Francisco, he oversees MSBA’s year-long competitive program that develops high-performance professionals who can create business value from data and models.
He brings a successful Graduate Admissions and Program Services background to the MSBA program from his previous roles at QS, Pepperdine, UC Irvine and the University of Miami. He was most recently the Regional Director of Client Partnerships at QS, partnering with Business Schools for their admission and recruitment needs and was previously the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Program Relations for Pepperdine’s School of Public Policy. At the University of California, Irvine, Paul Merage School of Business, he launched the Master of Science in Business Analytics and Masters of Finance programs before overseeing recruitment and admissions for the Full-Time MBA program. Prior to the Merage School of Business, Duarte-McDermott worked in recruitment and admissions for the University of Miami School of Business where he launched Masters programs in Finance, Business Analytics, Economics, and International Business. At all three schools, he was the face of each program’s admissions efforts.
Duarte-McDermott earned a JD/MBA from Claremont Graduate University Drucker School of Management and Southwestern Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Recording Arts from Loyola Marymount University. He is a foodie that loves to travel and is always up for a good meal and good adventure.
